Video: Domain object "mangling" in Grails
In the Grails community, they're trying to figure out how to merge current view technologies (e.g. jQuery, jQueryUI, Google Widgets) with the Grails infrastructure. Domain object "mangling" is Robert Fischer's specialty, so he contributed to the Grails community by making the dynamic domain properties plugin. Fischer discusses the development of this plugin and the book he wrote, "Grails Persistence with GORM and GSQL."
Robert Fischer is a software developer at Duke University and a national speaker. Fischer has gone from coding in Perl, to Java, to Ruby on Rails, and currently he's using Groovy and Grails. He's been working on several open source projects and he's also writing his own programming language. For his open source work, Fischer has stumbled upon tools like Gradle and Bytescript, a Ruby based DSL for the JVM. He's also been finishing a couple of Grails projects.
