Daily Dose - HTML5 Pack for Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Labs has announced an HTML5/CSS3/SVG pack for Illustrator this week.  The add-on is for the most recent class of the Creative Suite, CS5.  It helps designers easily create web content for various form factors.   Check out Mordy Golding's video overview of the features.

Ex-IBM Exec Gets 6 Months in Prison
Nearly one year after his arrest, former IBM hardware VP Robert Moffat was sentenced to six months in prison for giving insider trading information about Sun Microsystems to hedge-fund manager Danielle Chiesi.  Chiesi, who claims she is innocent even in the face of damning government wiretaps, goes on trial in January 2011 along with Galleon founder Raj Rajaratnam.  Moffat also had to pay a $50k fine.  

Sonatype Gets Money and New CEO
Wayne Jackson has been named the new CEO of Sonatype, a company founded on the open source Apache Maven project.  Jason Van Zyl, the creator of Maven and Founder of Sonatype will remain CTO.  Sonatype also received a total of $11.6 million in funding from various VCs.

Third Trip to the Seaside
The Seaside web framework for the Smalltalk language has reached version 3.0 this week.  The new version has simplified the framework's classes and become more modular.  URLs are represented by URL objects instead of strings and the framework relies less on strings to represent key data.  Seaside 3.0 also has better test coverage and jQuery support.  Seaside is known for its simple session management model.
