Daily Dose - Nexus One Will Also Get Gingerbread

A tweet from the Google Nexus feed confirms that the older "Nexus" model will also get the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update over the air in a few weeks.  The update should come around the same time as the Nexus S release, which will come with 2.3 pre-installed.   If you can't wait any longer to get Gingerbread on your Android phone, check out these ROMs for various models.

Mozilla 4 Beta 8
After a rocky beta 7, Firefox 4 is rolling again with the release of Beta 8.  A whopping 1415 bugfixes are included along with enhanced WebGL support and URL bar improvements.  The add-ons manager also got some polishing.

Python 3.2 Second Beta
Aiming for a February 5th, 2011 release, the Python 3.2 developers have reached beta 2.  The changes for this beta include fixes for IDLE, changes to subprocess.Popen, HTTP support fixes, and Windows library updates.  For a full list of what to expect in the final 3.2 release, read "What's New In Python 3.2."

Mozilla Drafts First Beta of MPL 2.0 License
A few months ago, Mozilla said they would draft a new version of the Mozilla Public License, which has remained largely unchanged since it's inception 10 years ago.  This week they released a beta 1 draft of the MPL 2.0.  The license has been simplified, shortened, and removes many US-specific terms and concepts.  The patent language has been updated to align better with current major open source licenses, and it also will allow better compatibility with those licenses.
