Very exciting stuff. In my opinion OSGi is by far the best component model that there has been to date, and it is fantastic that SpringSource is extending it to the server side masses. With my tool builder hat on, something that really excites me about this is the tool support and automation that OSGi enables. We've seen it happen with Eclipse's tools for building OSGi-based plug-ins, and I see even more potential for ground-breaking tool innovation around the numerous additions that the SpringSource Application Platform layers on top of OSGi.
