As we head toward the end of the year, we began wondering what the most significant achievements in the tech industry have been during 2012. The next few weeks, our weekly polls will be focused on an end-of-year wrap up, which, in addition to seeing the results instantly after responding, will be viewable in "Best of 2012" post shortly into the new year.

To start off this chain, this week's poll is focused on the most significant innovations in technology in regard to hardware. I've supplied several of the bigger name releases of the year, but please, feel free to add your own response in the "other" column if I've overlooked something. Additionally, we would love to understand why this product is the most innovative or significant of the year, so, if you can, please take the time to explain.
