Python 3.4 and the New Statistics Library Module

Python's newest version, 3.4, contains a number of new features, but one particularly notable feature is the new statistics library module. The library contains methods for a lot of measurements and equations commonly used for statistics, and should be a very useful tool for anybody working with that kind of data. Examples of new methods include:

  • Averages and measures of central location:
    • mean()
    • median()
    • mode()
  • Measures of spread:
    • pstdev()
    • pvariance()
    • stdev()
