DZone Refcardz: There Will Be An App For That
Ever since I got an iPhone, I've thought that our Refcardz would form the basis for a really useful app. So, over the past few months, I've been working on a project to write such an app. Our original plan was to have this ready for you this, to coincide with this Refcard 100, but things conspired against me. Hopefully it will be available to you in the next week or two.
Right now I'm working on an iPad port of the app. While it's nice to have Refcardz in your pocket at any time, the iPad experience is richer, and even more suitable. I really like how it looks, and this iPad version will be hot on the heels of the iPhone application.
Here's a sneak peak of the app and a brief summary of what you'll be able to do in the iPhone version:
- View a listing of all Refcardz, and be able to read them on your iPhone

- Bookmark Refcardz as your favorites
- Get a listing of featured Refcardz
- Search facility for Refcardz filtering
I've been testing the app on my own iPhone and have found Refcardz to be really useful on the move. It's easy and fast to do a quick search for a particular technology on your phone and find what you're looking for.
And the best news is that both apps will be available at the affordable price of $0.00. I'm looking forward to getting your feedback on the app, and hope to make continuous improvements to it to suit the readers. We have lots more plans for application development on the iPad and iPhone over the next few months, so keep an eye out for us on the App Store.

Thanks. Refcardz was plenty useful as an App on the iphone. Being able to view all the listings of Refcardz on the move was great, and bringing it to the iPad would only make it much better, with the bigger screen.
