Recently I blogged a few thoughts about measurement and flow in software engineering, inspired by several excellent talks and interviews at ALM Forum 2014.

The forum was overstuffed with excellent sessions and keynotes, and I was fortunate to be able to interview a number of experts on various aspects of software development.

We recorded some of these interviews and will make them available soon. But let's start with perhaps the most substantive and wide-ranging -- an in-depth chat with Dave West (Chief Product Officer at Tasktop, former analyst at Forrester Research, hyper-guru on all aspects of ALM).

Dave is one of my favorite interviewees -- brimming with knowledge, deeply engaging, and never content to deal intellectual fluff.

I spoke with Dave about all aspects of the software development lifecycle, with some emphasis on how good software engineering can shorten cycle times and avoid technical debt at the same time.

Check it out and let us know if you have any follow-up thoughts.
