VisualVM 1.1: Enhanced Monitoring Features & New Eclipse Support
VisualVM 1.1 has been released at https://visualvm.dev.java.net. The most significant improvements include:
- CPU usage and GC activity monitoring for each application in Monitor tab
- Three new commandline options to open an application or a snapshot (heapdump) in the tool
- Monitoring IBM JVM using JMX, experimental support for HP-UX PA-RISC platform
The tool is built on top of the latest NetBeans Platform 6.5 and incorporates the latest framework and profiler improvements and bugfixes. VisualVM 1.1 can be integrated with the Eclipse IDE, the tool is started along with the monitored application directly from the IDE. Integration with IntelliJ IDEA is already available as a third-party VisualVM Profiler plugin.
