BoofCV is an open source Java library for real-time computer vision and robotics applications. Written from scratch for ease of use and high performance, it often outperforms even native libraries. Functionality includes optimized low-level image processing routines, feature tracking, and geometric computer vision. BoofCV has been released under an Apache license for both academic and commercial use.
The latest release of BoofCV offers improved speed, API design, and 3D vision capabilities. A preview of camera calibration is now available. Full documentation and optimal performance should be ready by the next release. Support for checkered and square grid targets is provided. Nonlinear optimization has been added to most 3D vision algorithms using Sampson error and the faster to compute simple error models. The just added Efficient PnP can estimate the cameras position using 500 points at 1500 FPS.
