  • submit to reddit

Most notable features added in the 3.5 branch are the concept of grouping and managing test-suites in projects, Daemon communication now secured via SSL, new support for AJAX toolkits ICEfaces (added in 3.5.3!), Vaadin, PrimeFaces and ZK, full sub-item support for several AJAX toolkits, integration with test management tool QMetry, updated support for Firefox up to current 25, updated support up to Eclipse versions 4.3 and 3.8.2,  ExtJS version 4 and RichFaces version 4, for Testlink 1.9.7 and several extensions to the standard library qfs.qft.

Development also revealed that the focus is now going to switch to the next QF-Test major version 4. The primary goals for QF-Test 4 are support for JavaFX as a new GUI engine and for Chrome as part of the Web engine.

QF-Test already features easy to use capture/replay for effective recording of test cases for Java- (Swing, SWT, Eclipse plug-ins and RCP, ULC, Web Start, applets) and web-based applications (HTML, AJAX, explicitly GWT, RAP, Qooxdoo, Richfaces, ExtJs, ExtGwt, Vaadin, ZK, Primefaces and now ICEfaces). Advanced options like structuring and modularization strongly increase the reusability of system tests and thus reduce the maintenance effort. Expert functions like scripting in Jython or Groovy allow powerful under-the-surface access. QF-Test is ideal for the automation of functional regression and load testing.
