Paris, France

The LibreSource consortium, composed of Artenum, INRIA and Paris VII university, has announced the release of LibreSource 2.5, a significant update of its collaborative forge software. LibreSource is now available under the Open Source license GNU GPL V2 and reinforces its assets in collaborative work and software development. LibreSource has reached a level of maturity that allows it to orchestrate communities of several thousand users in an industrial context.

LibreSource is a web portal gathering all the necessary communication and sharing tools for collaborative work. This solution, particularly adapted for software development, aims to facilitate the coordination of collaborative projects and to reduce their cost.

The scientific community provided the first LibreSource users. The European Space Agency (ESA) was the first one to use it in the frame of a R&D industrial project. Last year was marked by its deployment for major actors like Thales Communication and the French Ministry of Ecology.

Amongst the improvements of version 2.5, LibreSource brings a better integration of the version control system Subversion and the support of the Java application servers JOnAS and JBoss.
