JxFileWatcher 1.2: New “Moved” Event and State Changes Reporting.
Please welcome the long-awaited release 1.2 for JxFileWatcher, our cross-platform library that provides convenient Java API for monitoring file system events. It is available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X platforms and supports both 32 and 64-bit versions of these OS.
We have taught our file watcher to report its state changes to users, so they know when the watcher is started, when it is stopped and why.
We have also introduced the “Moved” event to make reporting of some events more comprehensible. Normally when files are moved between the folders, Linux and MAC OS X systems report it as a “Rename” event, whereas users are used to think of it as of the “Move” event. To meet these expectations we have launched new event type “Moved”, which can be turned on by the following parameter:
One of the important improvements is support of the new 64-bit Linux updates, which allows to run both 32 and 64 bit applications. Now JxFileWatcher supports such operation systems as Ubuntu 10.10 and higher, Fedora 11 and higher, etc.
