Flexible Code Analysis Tool Released
SemmleCode Professional Edition is a flexible code analysis tool that helps you explore unfamiliar code bases, identify refactoring opportunities, do an automated code review, and visualize dependencies.
SemmleCode is an Eclipse plugin, and it takes just a few clicks to install. With two more clicks you can run 100 carefully tuned checks, giving you deep insight in the quality of your code base. Each check is abundantly documented, with explanations and hints on how to fix the problems found.
SemmleCode analyses not just Java, but also XML: for instance, one of the standard analyses visualises the dependencies in ant files. Its library provides support for checking good practice in the use of Spring configuration files.
SemmleCode offers unrivalled flexibility: through its built-in query language, you can whip up a new analysis of your own in just a few lines. No need to write complex visitors or to master complex APIs!
SemmleCode is now available for purchase on Semmle's website at http://semmle.com; there's also a 30-day free trial.
