Computers have been my hobby since I was 12. Now I'm a freelance Java developer. Like many other developers I am working on various private projects. Some are open source components (Butterfly Components - DI container, web ui, persistence api, mock test api etc.). Some are the tutorials at tutorials.jenkov.com. Yet others are web projects. I hold a bachelor degree in computer science and a master degree in IT focused on P2P networks. Jakob has posted 35 posts at DZone. You can read more from them at their website. Version 2.3.9-beta brings improved error messages during factory script parsing. Earlier the parser did not always tell you the name of the factory the parsing error was encountered in. This has been improved.

Butterfly Container is a dependency injection container, developed because Spring has grown too large. As such, Butterfly Container is only an 90 KB jar file. Yet it is as sophisticated as Spring, Pico and Guice, and pioneers new features like factory input parameters, replacement of factories at runtime etc.

Butterfly Container also performs well. It is faster than Guice, which in turn claims to be faster than Spring, so you are not sacrificing performance by choosing Butterfly Container. On the contrary.

You can find Butterfly Container here:
